The AFM60A-BGNB018x12 is a 60mm Basic-tier multiturn absolute encoder featuring 18-bit ST + 12-bit MT resolution (~30-bit total). This encoder utilizes a clamp flange with blind hollow shaft design and NB interface variant (SSI/Profibus derivative - confirm with SICK). Operating specifications include 4.5-32V power supply, IP65/IP67 enclosure rating, -40 to +100°C temperature range, ≤9000 rpm maximum speed, and radial M23-12 connection.
This encoder provides absolute position and turn count data directly to PLCs and drives in servo systems, winding applications, ASRS, and CNC equipment - eliminating the need for homing procedures and battery backup. The BG clamp with hollow shaft design mounts directly onto motor tails (compared to S1NB solid shaft variants). The extended temperature range of -40 to +100°C exceeds E-tier's +85°C limitation.
