Wet-Tap (Online Insertion/Removal) Rotor-X Paddlewheel Flow Sensor

 

The +GF+ Signet P51530WO​ is the Wet-Tap / Withdrawal-Option​ variant of the proven Rotor-X (515 series) paddlewheel flow sensor, allowing hot-tap insertion and removal under line pressure​ without system shutdown. Key parameters: flow range 0.3–6 m/s (1–20 ft/s), linearity ±1% FS, repeatability ±0.5% FS, minimum Reynolds 4500, self-powered sinusoidal frequency output ~19.7 Hz per m/s, and a shielded 2-conductor twisted-pair cable​ (std 7.6 m, extendable to 60 m). The PP body / PVDF black rotor / Ti pin​ wetted path handles 12.5 bar @ 20°C, with FKM (Viton) O-ring​ standard.

 

Where It's Used, Core Function & Operational Advantage

 

Its core function is to generate a flow-proportional frequency signal​ for pump protection, flow-proportional dosing, filtration monitoring, and totalization​ — but the Wet-Tap (WO) advantage​ means the probe can be serviced or replaced online​ via its isolation valve/bushing assembly, keeping critical lines running. Typical use cases: water/wastewater mains, cooling loops, chemical process headers, and scrubber recirculation​ where downtime is expensive. Combined with Signet 8550 / 5090 / 8900 / 9900​ instruments, it gives a zero-pressure-drop, low-maintenance, always-available​ flow measurement point — even in pressurized pipes where standard sensors would require a drain-and-lockout to swap.
